Moisture Intrusion Course
Learn the skills and techniques involved in identifying moisture in a home. Learn how to survey the exterior of a house including identifying grounds and drainage, roofing issues, observing the chimney, evidence of water in the crawlspace and basements, doors and thresholds, and windows. Next learn the interior surveying skills including how to inspect a room, using a moisture meter to scan for suspect moisture. Also inspecting a bathroom including the toilet, tub and shower and sink for plumbing failures. You will also learn to inspect laundry rooms, kitchens, attics and basements.
Where does mold grow?
Develop protocol for locating the most likely source of moisture, thereby locating the most likely source of mold. Risk assessment and water movement will be discussed.
